Need some input from runners. I currently run with my note 3 and a pair of blue tooth head phones using the cardio trainer app. I need a good heart rate monitor that will pair with the note 3 and allow the headphones to pair at the same time so I can listen to Pandora at the same time. I'll also take advice on a new running app that incorporates a trainer, allows me to race against my past runs, and give me regular updates on pace and speed. Currently considering run tracker and enroll endomondo. Open to anything though, free or paid within reason. Thanks.

I have a note 3 it don't run with it. How do you keep it dry and strapped to you without it boincing? What blue tooth phones are you using?

I have this holster combo that works well:

Seido Surface Holster/Case Combo

There are more protective cases by Seido and other makers, but this one is the best combination of protection and minimum bulk added. I also got this screen protector on it: Just Enough Protection

These are awesome. I will never use wired headphone again when running: Motorola S10-HD

ETA: I don't run in the rain and I just keep my shirt between the phone holster on my left hip clipped to my running shorts. Most runs are between 3 and 5 miles. I'm usually soaking wet by the end of longer runs, but I have had no issues. Phone is still in new condition.

Per the reviews in that link for the headphones, get the retail packaging b/c it includes the multiple sized earbuds for you fit perfectly to your ears. Might want to check out the S11s too. That is a newer version for around the same price point.

Update. After researching all morning, I ordered this HRM: Garmin Soft Strap

I am also leaning toward Endomondo as it syncs with MyFitnessPal.

I am still up for other recommendations though.

ETA: RunKeeper is FREE, and syncs with MyFitnessPal.

If the providers like AT&T and Verizon were smart, they'd build a wrist device that reeives Pandora by 4G and 3G and shares data on your phone plan.

There are numerous wrist devices now, but none, yet, designed for runners with Pandora, Beats Audio or Spotify built in apps.

I don't know why this wouldn't be feasible.

This is why I haven't done it. Doesn't seem like it would comfy running with the big note on my arm. Does android make a blue tooth enabled music player that is smaller like the nano?

Meh, with that holster I don't even realize that it is there. Then again I do not run because I enjoy running. I run because I enjoy really good craft beer, but if I'm going to punish myself I might as well keep up with it.
