It's badass. It's a depthfinder/gps/down imaging.

Brought it to Natchez Lake, you could see every limb of every submerged tree in 40' of water. For the marsh, it's nice to see your trail and to get a general layout of the surrounding areas.

And i'm trying to make a trip out of Pensacola. It would be used to obviously mark depth, but also to see any structure or fish I may come across.

I don't see me ever fishing water over 10' in mine. I have a boat for that. What kind do you have? Been thinking of getting one of those RayMarine chirps for my boat.

The Lowrance Elite4 HDI. I think I saw the Elite5 for sale at Academy for the same price, and it came with a map card.

The one I have at my console is supposed to be good, but I can't make out squat on it. May need settings changed.

I got the pro angler so that I can bring all my crap and it still have a nice neat place to go without having stuff stick out everywhere. In that sense, it is awesome. I can bring 5 rods and not have anything sticking up in my way. Downside is it's heavy like a mofo. I have to use the scupper cart so that I can throw it in the yak after I launch. In order to put the scupper cart in by myself, I've got to flip the yak on it's side. Which means I've got to take a lot of the stuff out so it doesn't fall over. Kind of a pain in the arse. I really don't feel like having my cooler fall over on my nice rod n reels. I'm going to start cutting back on what I bring because it's becoming more of a pain to launch the kayak than it was to launch my boat by myself

I also bring as many rods as I can comfortably fit. I hate tying a lure if I can just have it already tied up to a rod. Usually have at least 5.

I have 2 12v feeder batteries. 1 runs the livewell/charges my phone, the other runs the gps.

Those little batteries will run the Lowrance all weekend. 7.5ah, I believe.

If it wasn't obvious, I don't know anything about electricity.

I bought the Elite 4 DSI last week but didn't install it before the weekend because my battery hadn't come in. Supposed to be a pretty decent unit, haven't 100% decided where I want to put it.

I need to figure out how I'm going to mount mine on that track system on the new yak. If anyone has any experience with that, I sure could use some help. Trial and error could get expensive.

When I had it on the Ascend, the best place to put it was right in between my legs. It was out of the way when landing fish and easily accessible for changing the display. I put a Ram mount in the cup holder. CivilTiger07 set his up the same way. Just needs to be out of the way and easy to get to.
