Because you consider them significant and still can't man up enough to be honest with them.

Character isn't a coat. You can't take it off and put it on when it suits you.

Because people don't want to believe they are capable of doing it.

Because it makes the one being cheated on feel like shite. Pretty simple.

What if you're ok with them sleeping with someone else?

Then I guess it isn't cheating.

Because trustworthiness and loyalty are considered virtues and cheating shows you are neither.

Right. Isn't it basically accepted in Europe that you have a wife and girlfriend?

As a guy, if your female SO gets it on with another female, is that really cheating?

That's not cheating. Cheating is when you make a pleadge with another person to be only with that person. Cheating is when you cheat on that promise without the other person knowing.

It's a "stigma" because it is lying and disrespectful not to mention hurtful and unforgivable.

I think this discussion boils down to whether one thinks humans are naturally monogamous or polygamous

If your SO is accepting then it isn't cheating. If she isn't then you are lying to her.

Kind of see the difference?

Character. If a man will cheat on his wife (and visa versa) he/she will steal me blind.

First Rule of Business. Dont do business with weak/bad character.

Remember Momma's warning- if he cheats, he lies, and if he lies he steals... lying cheating and stealing are the same thing, gateway to hell...

Nah, Not really. It boils down to if you are a piece of shite that can't control their own urges.
