Though nothing is finalized, UM’s talks with Cowboys Stadium have progressed and all parties are working toward having the Hurricanes open the 2018 season against LSU in Arlington, Tx.

The game would be on a Saturday night and televised nationally.

UM has decided to focus on finalizing that game and has decided against playing Alabama in Atlanta to open the 2017 season.

I'd prefer south beach over the Jerry Dome though.

great! Another f****** home game being handed off to an out of state facility. LSU really love their season ticket holders.

NO....just NO !
Home and home games are where it's at...not glorified season opener "bowl type" wanna-be games !
Decent tickets to these "money grab" games cost upwards of $160....WHY ?????

You must not understand the feelings towards neutral site games around here.

I just want to play UM. Not my fault LSU's the one scheduling the game 100's of miles away.

I don't get this board's widespread hatred of playing openers away from Tiger Stadium. Like, I get why some people are for and against it. I see each viewpoint's arguments but people here are so damn angry about it. DFW ain't too bad to me. It's like another bowl game.

oh, stfu

I gues Bama, USC, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, UGA, Arkansas, TCU, Oklahoma, and so on all loathe their season ticket holders.

It's just what college football has become. I'm not for it, but it is what it is. Spare me the "Joe alleva sucks" rhetoric as every major football program is doing it now

my biggest issue is that it hurts our chances at the cotton bowl. But regardless, I would imagine we'll be a playoff contender in 2018.

LSU (academic and athletics) is looking to recruit out of state harder, and Dallas is prime with great schools for students and student-athletes. plus the jerrydome is a great venue to watch a game.

It's much better than Atlanta, and I think Atlanta would be hated by our fans even more than Dallas. No one would agree to play us in New Orleans. What other venue could we use? Our fans wouldn't travel much further than that, unless it's a historic venue like Lambeau
