LINK

I guess we will see if all these funds come in or not and then I guess we will start arguing about what to cut again.

Care to guess what will not be mentioned for cuts??

Have I mentioned lately Jindal's brother works for Gibson Dunn?

Maybe we can use the billion dollars that we overpaid the Medicaid pharmaceutical contractor. Too bad Bobby and DOA were so busy sweeping the nickel and dime accounts that they completely overlooked the billion that was on the table. Apparently Buddy Caldwell was the only one minding the store.

Imagine how short we'd be without all of the tax revenue generated by all of the supporting businesses?

Best measure for the effectiveness of a govt is the state of its coffers, no question. Unemployment, welfare, business income, per capita income, investments are all secondary. We must ensure the state govt has increasing amounts of money.

Obviously the Film Tax Credit program is doing its job so we need to start another program to give tax credits to another segment of the economy that presently we do not have at this time.

What business should we try and cultivate next?

If we get a few more programs like the Film tax credit deal, I bet we'd run a surplus in no time.

Can only cut health and hospitals and higher education according to state law. Its been that way since the 1970's.

I was hoping Jindal would lead a change to that but overall he really hasn't done a bad job considering his terms have paralleled Obama's and the so called "great recession" that really hasn't ended.

AHHHH but some expenses are not classified as expenses. They are top line reducers. They are fair game.

A little quirk that those in the scheme to hide subsidies ignored.

If I only had some means to secure the financial help needed...I would make a movie out of this film tax credit debate.

You can bank it anywhere. Consider this--and it would be perfectly legal--you could start Crow Pie Productions LLC with $300,000 borrowed from a bank, film the TD board as the posts come, pay yourself as an employee of Crow Pie Productions a $300,000 salary, sell the film for $1 to some interstate broadcast (even on the internet) you could then pay the bank back from you salary and the state of Louisiana will give you 35% of the $300,000 in transferrable tax credits-$105,000.

Imagine that?

But we created at least one more job that would not have been there without the incentive.

Back to the topic--

If the state does come up short does anyone think Jindal will purpose postponing issuing film tax credits??? or will he purpose cutting LSU spending?
