Moms are illegal, but kids born here are legal

Would someone please explain this to me why.
I know it had to do with the post Civil wars amendments, but why is this the case today.
It makes no sense and I do not think any other country adheres to this type of policy.

We would have to pass a Constitutional amendment to change it. It would be very difficult. But Barack does have his pen so you never know.

American citizen children get deported along with their mothers all the time. Just because they're citizens doesn't mean their parents don't get removed.

I know nothing about immigration law, but the below is from Wiki and seems right. If we have any immigration lawyers I'm sure they can educate us more:
Section 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution provides that "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."
In the case of United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898), the Supreme Court ruled that a person becomes a citizen of the United States at the time of birth, by virtue of the first clause of the 14th Amendment, if that person:
Is born in the United States
Has parents that are subjects of a foreign power, but not in any diplomatic or official capacity of that foreign power
Has parents that have permanent domicile and residence in the United States
Has parents that are in the United States for business
The Supreme Court has never explicitly ruled on whether children born in the United States to illegal immigrant parents are entitled to birthright citizenship via the 14th Amendment,[7] but it has generally been assumed that they are.[8]

Children under 18, born in this country to non-citizens should have the same status as their parents.
If one parent is citizen = citizen
If parents are legal aliens not seeking citizenship = same as parents, and leave with parents when time is up
If parents are legal aliens seeking citizenship, can become citizens along with parents after going through naturalization process
If parents are illegal, children are illegal and should be removed with/like parents => no such thing as anchor babies

What about the 10,000 chinese women that flew into the US just to give birth to an american citizen? (there are business in Hawaii and California set up just for this)
Thousands of South Koreans and Japanese go to Saipan(US Territory) for the same reason.
