Best

Ochoa; Blind-Medel-Giancarlo Gonzalez (CR)-Serge Aurier (CIV); Pogba-Jermaine Jones; Neymar-James Rodriguez-Robben; Messi

Manager: Jorge-Luis Pinto (CR)

Worst

Pletikosas; Baines-Pique-Phillipe Senderos (SUI)- Glenn Johnson; KP Boateng-Gerrard-Xavi; Eto'o-Fred-Aguero

Manager: Fabio Capello

Funny how before the World Cup started some would have taken the worst team over the best team.

No Muller on the best list?

Jermaine

And James Rodriguez has been the highest rated player so far in the WC. And if you watch them play, its obvious as to why he is rated that high. Kid has been a stud.

That is a bit odd.

Also, I nominate Hodgson manager of the worse team over Capello.

Hard to argue with any of those selections... Besler and Fabs deserve some credit - I would probably have them on the "2nd team" Best XI.

Pogba over Valbuena is a bit surprising.

Bryan Ruiz couldve been on there as well...

i'd go:

Navas; Ricardo Rodriguez, Medel, Besler, Aurier; Besic, Jermaine Jones; Neymar, Rodriguez, Robben; Messi

muller hasn't been as good as any of those 4 attackers. the CBs are kinda hard because of how attacking this WC has been.

No way! Capello (the highest paid international manager) was in a shite group with the second best team yet failed to win a match. Hodgson had a team that was not as good as Italy and at best equal to Uruguay (which was playing in its own continent). He cannot be judged by the CR result because he played backups when all was lost.

I just think Hodgson had a more talented team than Russia and made some pretty obvious mistakes (playing Rooney out wide, not even trying to bring Terry in, etc.)

Russia isn't that good in my estimation. Yeah their group was crap but Algeria actually isn't a terrible team.

James, Messi, Neymar, and Robben are the only four that have to be on the best XI.

I love that Jones is on there. He deserves it.

Also worst keeper has to be Akinfeev (sp?) for Russia right? He is literally the reason they aren't through. Through his hands against S Korea and the missed punch against Algeria.

Capello, considering his pedigree and salary, was no doubt terrible but Del Bosque was easily the worst.

Casillas was the worst keeper as well.

I didn't see much of Senderos but if he was worse than Ramos good God.

On the surface Mueller not on there looks odd but who would you replace him with out of those attackers? He scored a PK and a garbage goal against 10 men. His goal against the USA was really his only one of consequence/skill.

Besic > Pogba in this World Cup. Pogba has played less than 180 minutes partially due to his early yellow. Both have been good, but I will take the guy who shut down Messi.

Yeah, Pogba would be landslide favorite to win it if France wins one or two more but I agree that he hasn't actually played to his highest standards yet (and he's still been very good when he's played).

Gimenez, the CB from Uruguay, has also been very good in his 2 matches.

Future world star and club anchor for many, many years. I don´t know if Atlético de Madrid will be able to keep him.
