I recently upgraded my system about a year and a half ago and put in Infinity reference 6 3/4 door speakers, tweeters, and crossovers in the front and Infinity Kappa 6x9s in the back running to an Alpine amp. Basically it has kind of lost its crisp edge that it had so want to go with something new. Any one had any experience with JL, Focal, or Hertz component speakers just looking for some feed back

How are you controlling all your sounds? Do you have a legit aftermarket head unit with a equalizer on it?
You can buy an equalizer separately and fine tune everything.

Just with the basic controls on my head unit and amp. I used the high pass filter for cleaner signal but felt like getting an equalizer on mid to lower tier speakers was kinda pointless.

Get some better door speakers and maybe an equalizer. It's only going to sound as good as you tune it. If you're using a stock head unit, there's not much tuning going on.
I think I also have the infinity kappas in my truck, but they're running to the stock head unit, no amp. I'm not real happy with them, but better than stock. I want to get something better and run it to an amp, but I don't see myself spending the money on it right now.
I also have a 10" sub. Not loud enough to rattle everyone's windows, but loud enough to make all my music sound better. Then you can pull all the bass out of the door speakers making them sound cleaner (with a decent equalizer of some sort.)
