Me and some friends are going to a Houston v Toronto game almost soley for Bradley and Defoe, and we went to a Seattle game for Dempsey. so who would you like to see play inperson in MLS.

David Villa is on his way
Arent Lampard and KAKA almost done deals too?

In the near future I want Zlatan and Torres.

Idk how much Jermain Jones is making in Turkey but I would want to see him make a move to MLS this summer.

Lampard, Terry, Zlatan, Forlan, All of the aging stars from Spain or Netherlands, Gerrard.

I still need to catch up with current stars but don't really have a place to do so

I think when Beckham gets a Miami team, that that team will be basically the opposite of the Olympic teams...

as in 32+ only with 3 exception players

But seriously i bet the Miami team has atleast 2 or 3 former super stars

Hes said hes open to moving to MLS and with Beckhams team starting in a couple years that would be perfect timing. They also know each other from PSG.

Also lets add Drogba to the wish list

They played together for like 3 months

Zlatan is already 32 and still has top clubs after him. He will be playing at an elite level for a while. If it ever did happen he would be damn near 40.

Id love Dorgba but as long as MLS keeps overpaying for old guys the same stigma about the league will stick.

Will be interesting to see who NYCFC's last DP is along who Miami will bring in though.

Also with DC United building a new stadium they will finally have to splash on a DP.

He will probably play in England or Germany first.

But id rather see him in MLS before going to Scotland.

I don't think Mix will ever play in the MLS, going by his quotes after his trial with Portland.

quote:

"I, for sure, want much more to belong to a team and a city than to be 'owned' by a league," Diskerud said. "Especially when the league puts so many restrictions on what kind of non–economic agreements the club and the player can make. The economic constraints I understand and accept, so it's not that."

Eventually MLS will have to move away from this model of owning all the contracts.

Definitely, but I feel like we are about a decade away of consistent growth from that happening. Two more good TV contracts, and people actually watching the MLS will go a long way. I just don't trust the owners to not to spend themselves into oblivion, especially going forward, as more and more TV money is promised, requiring more investment in players and wages, risking the whole league. This is especially concerning as the memory of the NASL evaporates. Slow and steady growth will hopefully insulate the league from major problems going forward.

MLS is about on par with Belgium

he is in Norway but he's getting looks from major leagues. Also he didn't grow up in the states so he has no real major connection to come home per say.

Crazy4, nailed it again.
The problem in this scenario, especially where Mix is concerned, they have no clue what happened 30-40 years ago in the States. NASL means nothing to them. To people who invest in sports, it's a huge cautionary tale, and like you say, it shows the rationale for MLS' business model.

NYCFC will be going after a USMNT star and they have the money to pay whatever they want. It'll be either Mix or Jozy.

And most importantly, Mix has like 50 Yankee hats
