You guys want to re-define that high powered offense? Uh, ok. Sounds like a GREAT idea to me.

ETA: I do think he'll be a good player though. I hated you guys got him but it'll be interesting to see how he replaces Sproles. Assuming he gets utilized roughly the same.

“Oh man, I’ve seen all the highlights, and that gets you excited,” Brees concluded. “I think he can do a lot of things. I think he can play outside receiver. I think he can play inside in the slot. You can hand him reverses. You can throw him screens. He can return punts. He’s a very versatile player, very explosive player that you just want to get the ball in his hands and get it to him in space and good things will happen.”
Oh.

Well, 'redefine' it at crucial game-deciding parts of the game (Jets, Patriots losses) and tougher and faster (Seattle losses)

We were only the top 4 offense last season.

That's not good enough.

our offense did not have a legit deep threat last year which allowed defenses to play up more.

Wow, even as fast as he is, he is very imperfect at coming off of the line. Once he eliminates that initial stutter he'll take almost a second off of his route time.

It really wasn't. Shows how great our offense has been with Brees.

Our oline was our biggest issue followed by WR. I think both groups have potential to be the best in the SP era this year

Stills is a legit deep threat, but he's much, much more than that. We've been most successful when we've had 2 guys who can run deep. This year, we have 3 and 2 are much much more

Payton wants to expand his menu.

So he brought in some Cooks.

We were actually 10th in the only stat that matters, PPG. That's nowhere near good enough for a Sean Payton/Drew Bree's team.

I wouldn't say that it is the only stat that matters.

We only had 19 giveaways last season, but we only generated 19 takeaways. we did a great job of protecting the ball last year. If the defense forces more turnovers (Byrd), the PPG should go up with it.
