So I have a nice 300 upper that I ordered from Midway way back on 3/10/14 and they still cant tell me when the hell it will even be ready.

SO, I want an upper and I want it now.

talk to me about barrel lengths, and any other advantage of one upper vs another.

Buy the 8.5 or 11.5, buy Noveske or DD, or buy the 11.5 with pinned suppressor by DD.

16 probably but I don't know if I can get reasonable accuracy out of a shorter (9-12") barrel.

I need to be able to hit a 4" target 200 yards.

Buy an arsenal democracy 8.5 upper. They are also making a supressor soon. They use Shilen barrels. Amazing warranty and built and tested only by SOF guys.

Get you a trust set up.

File an eform 1 to make an SBR (yes eforms are back up and running)

File a form 4 for "fill in the blank" 30 cal suppressor

Wait....

Wait.....

Have lots of fun.

True that. Just bitching and moaning.

My understanding is trusts went away or became ineffective June 1

What are advantages of SBR?

I bought one from sotaarms.com and don't have any complaints about it. Shoots straight and is a proven hog killer

Would not buy. Unless their engineers and barrel makers are SF.

Not true, I just used mine to send off paperwork for two items.

AAC has a 12.5" upper in stock you could order for an SBR build. LINK

Wilson Combat (the brand KR bought at auction) has a couple of complete uppers (11.3" and 16") in stock as well.

Rainier Arms has a couple of Noveske 300BLK uppers. LINK

If you are willing to go through all this and wait for the rifle you should look into the Daniel Defense ISR.

It's a Daniel Defense integrally suppressed 300BLK. Only requires one tax stamp as well. I know where one is sitting on the shelf as well.
