Amazon partnered with USPS
Posted by Catman88 on 6/26/14 at 6:54 pm00
When did that garbage happen? I have an order that was 2 day prime and it didn't show up. Check tracking and it says usps. Wtf? C'mon that's horrible.

Because I'm not familiar, what exactly do they do when they can't keep their guarantee?

I also get packages on Sunday with USPS.

Issue an apology.

Not sure but the last two packages I had came usps and they were on time.
Got one Wednesday afternoon that I ordered Monday night at 10:30 PM. I have sent and received many hundreds of packages through USPS over the years, and they have always provided excellent service. FedEx OTOH has lost my packages twice, and I've used them probably less than 1/10 as much as the postal service.

My experience is slightly different I have caught usps workers driving into my driveway and throwing packages to my door never leaving their ac. I had to deliver packages to my neighbors 3 times this year. I'm a odd address and I get packages at my door that are even with my address right by the door. Never had a missed delivery from ups or fed ex.

My wife almost got herself arrested over this shite show at the post office off college. She had tried to call them for 3 days to inquire about a package that was not delivered.
She decided to go down there and had a few choice words with the BBW postal workers and called them out on their lazy bullcrap.
She busted them with their phone off the hook on purpose by dialing the number and turning the volume up on her phone to show them and all the people in line what a bunch of lying sacks of shite they are.
Manager had to come out and diffuse the situation.

Contacted Prime customer service this morning when a package that was supposed to show up today (ordered Tuesday at 11am) was tracked via Fedex to arrive tomorrow. A quick email response gave me:
First issue I ever had, and they went above and beyond, and all I did was ask about how solid the shipping guarantee is
quote:
Hello,
I'm sorry your order didn't arrive when you expected it. I completely understand your disappointment. That's definitely not what we want our customers to experience.
I can confirm you that we have shipped the order as per the scheduled time from our fulfillment center. It appears that your package has been delayed in transits by the carrier.
As an online retailer, we rely heavily on the postal system to deliver our orders to our customers and sometimes, despite all our efforts, there can really be unforeseen incidents that are beyond our control. However, we take full responsibility should any item become defective while being delivered and we're happy to refund or replace these items at a cost to ourselves.
I understand that, as a member of Amazon Prime, you expected 2-day delivery for the order you placed while being a part of the membership. Rest assured, we'll do all that we can to keep this from happening again. I'm truly sorry for all the inconvenience we have caused you.
In my experience, late packages arrive not long after the estimated delivery date. Please wait until June 27, 2014, before requesting a refund or replacement.
I understand that waiting for additional days can be frustrating but based on our historical knowledge of delivery times; majority of the packages will reach before a replacement order would.
Please be assured that this is not a typical Amazon.com experience and in no way did we intend for this to happen especially to a Prime member like you. To help make up for the inconvenience, I've extended your Amazon Prime membership by one month. The membership will now DATE.
Further, to compensate the delay, I've requested a refund of $20.00. This refund will appear in the next 2-3 business days as a credit on the original payment method used for the order. Once processed, you'll also be able to see the refund here:
We do want to make sure that you receive your order. If your package does not arrive by the end of the business day on June 27, 2014, please use the link below to contact us so we will take appropriate actions to resolve this issue to your satisfaction.
I confirm tha your order will reach you on June 27, 2014.
One of our aims at Amazon.com is to provide a convenient and efficient service; in this case, we haven't met that standard. I'm truly sorry, and I hope you'll give us another chance in the future.
Again, I would like to apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced in this case. Please accept my sincere apology for this.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Best regards,
Prakash K.

This has been in effect quite a while for some (but not all} items. My USPS delivery of Prime shipping has been spot-on.

I got a package on Sunday the other day too. It was only cat food, so I kind of felt bad for the cost and extra work to get it on my porch on a Sunday.
Just ordered some stuff from amazon, one item from amazon, two items from another place. Went to place order and the order from amazon was going to be here friday so I upgraded the other items to second day shipping so they would be here the same day. Hit the complete order button and the next page says the one item from amazon wouldnt be here until July 7th. WTF is up with that? I wouldnt have upgraded the shipping to second day on the other items.

They've been using a combination of FedEx, UPS and USPS for some time now. They are using USPS for Sunday deliveries as well
I've had 100+ Amazon orders delivered in the past 6 months with hardly a blip. Still excellent service. They can only do so much and carriers make mistakes (all 3 of them).

USPS is terrible. Of course the shite they are responsible doesn't show up or is hidden in some ridiculous part of my yard days after it was supposed to arrive.
Amazon handles it well though. Fedex it overnight no questions asked.

Same here, guess it just depends on your local post office and post man/woman.
I've had Prime for years now and ordered probably 200 items and have never had a single one not arrive on time, in bad condition, or anything.
Most are FedEx for me, but the smaller packages are almost always USPS and they've been great for me.
