The goal of getting out of the group has been achieved.

So do you think Klinsmann rolls out a similar lineup as the last 2 matches or goes a little more aggressive?

I'm thinking he doubles down on Michael Bradley as an attacking midfielder and goes with the 4-4-2 that took it to Mexico in the first half of that friendly, with Dempsey and Wondo up top.

So Mix at CAM, Jones left, Bedoya right, Beckerman and Bradley at DM?

I could buy that, but I'm honestly desperate for Bacon.

Here's what we should do, assuming everyone is healthy.

Howard
Fabian-Besler-Other Defender-Beasley
Beckerman
Bradley Jones
Zusi Bedoya

Dempsey

Depending on our situation, I would like to see Mix come on for the worst central midfielder around the 60th minute (assuming we are down 1 or tied). Also under the same assumption, I'd like to see Bacon on in the 65th to 70th minute for either Bedoya or Zusi.

Assuming we have the lead at that point, it is a lot tougher. It's going to be hard to convince any manager to make offensive substitutions, and that's what Mix and Bacon are.

The other viable sub is Yedlin. I don't see us changing central defenders barring an injury.

I don't think we will see Mix unless there is an injury.

I think we gotta go a bit more aggressive. And think we need to get Mix on the field with Bradley during the KO stage. And both need to be towards the middle. Like a 4-3-2-1

Dempsey at the Sriker, Mix and Bradey at the LF and RF, Jones at the CM. And Zusi / Bedoya at the LCM / RCM and goiing forward in the attack. Would almost look like a 4-1-4-1 when attacking.

And we could alway put Beckerman in for Mix or Zusi / Bedoya and go back to what we have been doing. I just think we need to be a little bit more aggressive in the KO stage.

Please delete this thread or change your title. People could infer that since you are asking about strategy, then that means we advanced. Not everyone has had a chance to watch the game.

Yes see how ridiculous that is??

He's a winger that plays for Napoli. Has been good at getting into attacking positions this tournament. Sometimes selfish.

Yes, your attempt at the at playing the "gotcha game" was pretty ridiculous.

This is never going to happen. The Christmas tree formation has only really been used by Ancelotti's Milan teams nearly a decade ago. And he did it only to accommodate Pirlo, Rui Costa, Seedorf, and Kaka all in the same midfield. It's literally untenable for basically every other team.

frick that. Don't get on social media if you don't want to know the score of the game.
Sometimes this board is just stupid.
