I'm sure there will be lots of reasoning behind these responses.

Giuseppe Rossi. I bet he regrets snubbing his home country now. You made your bed now lay in the Italian fringe players pool.

Giuseppe Rossi.

Career derailed by injury. Would have been on the 2010 Italy team but tore his ACL in club play.

Right now, he is a sub for a mid-level Italian team and would not make the US squad.

I'm not getting the Rooney answers. He is the type of player that can win a game almost on his own, and will give it his all for a full 90. Utd would be totally screwed if we didn't have him last season.

I remember the 2010 injury, and still thought he was overrated then. I just looked up that he had 16 goals in 22 appearances for Fiorentina, which is pretty impressive.

Would he? He is working on a bum knee. He sat out most of 2013 with a torn ACL. After recovery, he promptly injured his knee again in Jan. 2014. He only recently stepped back on the field in May 2014.

Rossi is not fit, and he would not have made the US WC team.
