Didn't Seattle in the vaunted NFL make the playoffs at 7-9?

7/16 = 43% win rate

1/3 = 33% win rate

Yep, Seattle still fared better than US soccer.

Ha wow.

Comparing group stage to NFL season record.... smh.

What about the loss rate?

Seattle - lost 9 out of 16 = 56% loss rate
USA - lost 1 out of 3 = 33% loss rate

Losing over half your games or a third of your games...

Yep, US Soccer fared better than Seattle did.

And what about sports like baseball and basketball with best of 7 playoff series, where a team can "choke" three times and still advance.

Yeah, exactly.

We are in need of a "win this one for Lou" speech.

Right, how can we beat a team that couldn't score on Iran until stoppage time and barely beat Nigeria who is now missing their second best player?

No one understands round robins. Why don't people rail against Olympic hockey or intramural softball?
