Obama also took aim at Republicans for pleading ignorance on climate by saying they aren’t scientists…

…And he said young people largely support acting on climate change — citing his own daughters as an example.

“You talk to Malia, you talk to Sasha, you talk to your kids or your grandkids — this is something they get,” he said. “They don’t need a lot of persuading.”

Anyone else getting the feeling that this comes off like the infamous "Jimmy Carter discussing nuclear war with Amy Carter" bit from the Carter-Reagan debate?

No, but he's trying to say "Indoctrinate the kids while they're young, it will take."

Probably because they don't have fully developed brains.

When I was a kid, I was convinced Santa Claus was real. That doesn't mean we need legislation protecting St. Nick.

Great. Country club aristocrat children believe in acting on climate change. After the years of arguments on climate change, this has to be the most convincing yet.

I guess if a couple of clueless kids believe something that's been drummed into their heads since birth, it means the science is settled.

We've still got adults who believe that Obama Claus will pay all their bills and send them a Skittle-shitting unicorn that can fill up their gas tanks.

Would anyone expect 10,12,14 year old kids to believe anything else about Global Warming but what they have been indoctrinated in their entire lives?

Kids of that age believe anything their parents tell them... And we all know the level of Obama's intellectual honesty.

This reminds me of a science teacher I had in 7th grade that told us that air conditioners were bad because the CFC's in the refrigerants ate holes in the ozone layer. She conveniently left out the fact that CFC use had been banned 20 years before.

My 7th grade science teacher was a militant lesbian vegan who tried to sour all of us on eating meat, dairy, etc.

Of course, the reason she was a vegan was that she'd had a heart attack in her 20s, which is something damn near impossible without either a congenital defect or drug use.

Reminds me of a 10th grade teacher who played Alanis Morisette's song, Ironic, as an example of what it means
