Uber approved by BR City Council

Looks like Uber, Lyft, and Sidecar have been approved in Baton Rouge. I suspect this will be a boon to the restaurant/bar scene in Baton Rouge. I'd think it will also decrease DWIs as well.

Forgive me for being dense, but Uber is just regular people giving rides right via an App? I don't see what all te controversy is! What am I missing?

That is FANTASTIC news.. the lack of a legitimate taxi service in BR has been very problematic.

Yeah that's the jist. I have friends who live in Dallas who use it weekly & absolutely love it. Have had no problems.

The cab companies are basically the ones causing all the controversy
