Going to Chicago this weekend with my wife and was wondering if the food board had any good ideas on great places to eat. We currently have Shanghai Terrace and Gibson's as our two dinners in the city. Open to any suggestions and price doesn't matter. Thanks.

There's an Eataly in Chicago with several dining options in it covering the range of experiences. I've eaten at Blackbird recently and it was really good.

Only had brunch there, and while I'm not a big fan of that style of meal I could tell they were putting out some good food. Wish we could have gone for dinner.

Mercadito is another good spot, but more for a singles crowd rather than a date night.

I also suggest Big Star for lunch one day. Cool taco joint in Wicker Park.

There is actually a legit cajun/New Orleans type place in the loop called Heaven on Seven.

Hope it's better than The Local Option. That place fricking blows.

Zealot .. check out Farmhouse if you get a chance.

Also, are you able to mule beers back? If so I'll text you a small request.

I didn't even bring my suitcase. Just a suit carrier & backpack.

On that note what's a good craft beer bar near Wrigley. Gonna try & make the game tomorrow. What IPA should I try?

Les Nomades was probably one of the best meals that I have ever had. I would highly suggest that restaurant.

I would also check out Ada St. .. It is a great tapas place ...

There's a Gingerman up there. Not sure how good their selection is.

Half Acre Daisy Cutter is the bomb pale ale brah. Also seek out anything by Pipeworks.

As for other stuff you cant get in the south that you can in Illinois I would suggest Three Floyds and Two Brothers. They also sell Firestone Walker at certain places, Big Star being one of them.

There are a few good spots in Greek Town if you like authentic Greek food. Also, (and I'm sure I'll get flamed for this) if you want to get some good Chicago style pizza, hit up Giordano's or Lou Malnati's.

I had Lou Malnatis last summer while tripping, and it was really gross. Might have been the L though.

Giordano's is my go to, but I've had Lou's and enjoyed it. I had Geno's East once and it was the most disgusting pizza I ever tasted in my life. Stay away from Geno's....

All of the locals will tell you that there are better, less known pizza joints throughout the city. You just have to know where to look.
