I am moving out of the country at the end of august. What are my best options for online tv service? My mom has dish, so I have been researching the Dish anywhere, but that requires a good high speed internet connection on her end and well her internet sucks (I hate satellite internet). I already plan on using her dish account for the sec network and buying league pass to keep up with the pelicans.

Buy your mother a slingbox. Explain to her how to not be confused when the tv "turns itself on," and be sure you're not trying for the HDMI model/output, as you say you're not going to have the best internet. I believe the slingbox 350 is your best bet.

That won't be a problem, I will set it up on the tv in my old room which she doesn't use.

I've gotten decent results in the 0.5-1.0mbps up while watching over 3G. He seems to understand that high def isn't in his future.

You'll potentially get better, uninterrupted service with a better uplink. You'll also be able to push to HD if you're above ~5mbps, I do believe. But for SD stuff, it does work on lower-tiered stuff decently. Or at least as good as any alternative would.

He's saying his mom has satellite internet. Pretty sure the monthly caps on it are really low, like 10 GB/month. He would burn through that pretty quick wouldn't you think?

Oh. If it's a data cap issue, then yes. That wouldn't last terribly long.
