gotta give the man credit, he nails it in this article.

If this was discussed already in the gigantic nola thread my apologies.

quote:

“If they’re such a good company, why do they have notable lawsuits in every city they’re in?” Wyckoff said. “Why would anyone want to bring in a company with that much baggage?”

Delgado chalked up the litigation to a powerful incumbent industry protecting its turf.

“The taxicab industry has done a very good job of fighting innovation and change,” he said.

couldnt have said it better myself.

A broken clock's bound to be right twice a day. I don't care much for most of Delgado's opinions, but when you're right, you're right.

Same thing he is doing with the St. George debacle. At least he is on the right side of the fence on this issue though.

I was blown away by Uber in Feb. while in New York. I loved that I could stay inside, get a car to come to me, watch to see how close the driver was to my location, and walk outside as they pull up. Oh, and pay for it all on my phone before getting in the car.

Just did. You did a shitty job of your quoting. You made it look like Delgado said the first part as well, which he clearly didnt

ETA: I still like you though

ETA 2: I suck at life

You didn't lay out the OP very well IMO.

It's confusing as to the sides people are taking.

Look online when you sign up for Uber and Lyft. They have all kinds of promo codes you can use to get free credits. I got $20 free credits for Uber and $25 for Lyft when I first signed up.

100% this. F&*k traffic, f$#k puiblic safety, let's endlessly support a shitty monopoly on cabs so we can profit from fining drunk drivers!
