Traveling to Gainesville for the LSU/Florida game w/ my LSU alum in-laws. Never been and not sure what to expect besides the obnoxious "bros" in tank tops and jorts. Is it even a trip worth making?

It was my least favorite road trip I took in college. No drinking on campus. But the stadium is a good experience. Make sure you do your research. It's not as easy as just drive up and party.

Campus police are brutal. We usually find a bar and stay there all day. It's not a ton of fun compared to how it used to be. But the game is a good atmosphere.

It sucks.

Partly the fans but I can deal with that. The campus/Gainesville popo go out of their way to make the experience for visiting fans as miserable as possible.

You can park in a perfectly fine spot and they'll jump all over you and threaten to tow your car.

And don't have a drink in your hand. They look for that.

The one time I went I did find a tailgate and we put beer in a cup. Ive been told not to cross the street even with a cup. They will check it.

Alot of my friends went to Florida State after the game to party there........

That's pretty bad when your friends leave to party at a different school.

I know their bars right next to campus open early so if you want to do that, that could be fun. I think they have pretty girls on campus but some of the guys are very bro.

Great football stadium! Fans are just crazy for their Gators! They seem really intense when LSU comes calling! VERY loud! Geaux Tigers!

Sounds like finding a bar is our best option. My guess is it will be a CBS game, so not a lot of time to kill before kickoff anyway.

Yeah we had to move our tailgate far. Like not even a comfortable walking distance. My least favorite sec town.

We did this once actually. Said frick it, drove to Tallahassee and stayed there.

When compared to other SEC road trips, it is horrible. The city itself offers little to do outside of chain restaurants, unless you can parlay it into a trip to Tampa, Orlando (Disney), Miami, Key West, etc.

As others have mentioned, the cops are brutal and the fans aren't as welcoming as will find other places. It is easier to be welcomed into another group at Ole Miss and Bama as an LSU fan then it is at Florida.

Basically, you'll drive a long way to go eat at Hooters, then pre-game inside of a bar, go sit in a HOT/loud stadium, then go back to a bar.

Save your money or go to a different venue

That place and their fans are terrible

very unpleasant fans too. I rarely bitch about opposing fans, but man they suck.

As terrible as they are on the internet, Bama fans that actually attend games are much more tolerable

UF's stadium is ugly, GPD sucks, liquor laws on campus suck, skip it.

Did not feel like a SEC road trip to me.
I went Saban's first year, the brook trout look game. It was a day game so I didn't get to experience a night game at the Swamp

Wow It must suck arse to be a Gator fan. No beer or alcohol around the tailgates. What the hell.

Told myself I would never go back to this hell hole! Fans were complete arse holes, there is nothing worse than having to deal with white sun glass wearing trash dicks for a whole weekend!
