I wouldn't have expected anything else from that cesspool

I moved to Texas less than three weeks ago and still have no regrets.
Texas > Louisiana

Really?
So you're talking numbers in the 100's. Yeah, that's a real exodus. And where are they moving? Are they fleeing the state, or just moving a parish over so their kids won't get stabbed in an EBR public school?
quote:
The following migrations occurred in 2012 in Baton Rouge:
• lost 333 people with a graduate or professional degree
• lost 85 people with a bachelor's degree
• gained 177 people with some college
• gained 152 people with high school degree or equivalence
• gained 749 people with less than a high school graduate degree

Yes, it's hundreds, but they gained nearly 2 1/2 times as many people with graduate degrees as high school dropouts. Rates are what matters, because they may suggest a trend for what will happen in the future.
Especially when the net population increase is 660.

I can't take that article seriously. The only reason those 400 ppl with bachelor's degrees leaving was brought up was so the author could bitch about the anti-sodomy case from last year.
There's a reason the Times Picayune has no print publication anymore.

Why is BR so damn polarizing on this forum? I don't get all the hate. Sure, it has undesirable aspects, but no it's not nearly as bad as these people on here make it out to be.

It has always been the cool thing to do from what I can tell. If their friends do it, they jump right in.

As it is, and as it shall be

Migration of educated people, the article notes, correlated the highest with concentrations of gay and lesbian people than any other factor. "This suggests that open-mindedness, tolerance and diversity continue to play a substantial role in the migration of highly education people."
wow...how the hell do you take those statistics and turn it into some bullshite about gay people?

But there are a couple of universities right there - this plan is just crazy enough to work.
