MS will be a huge national race in NOV.

Dems will pour money into our state to try and save the senate.

Honestly I think Cochran will win. I'm hearing the black turnout for him is huge...they're saying the polls are having to get more ballots because they are running out.

The MS legislature really needs to change to closed primaries.

They have a law on the books now about voting for someone in a primary that you don't intend to vote for in the general election, but that seems unenforceable.

You could enforce it by tossing out any votes made in November for a different candidate than the one you voted for in the primary, but that's a stupid rule because what if the person you once supported did something to turn you off from them before November elections? Plus the lazy asses in this state aren't going through the trouble to pick through all those votes and see which ones are legit.

Closed primaries are the way to go

Unless I am mistaken this is only an issue for runoffs. you have to declare your party for the primary election.

The rule is you can only vote in one - GOP or DNC. Those who voted in the first GOP can vote, again, or the ones who did not vote altogether.

Yeah... If he is the one that ran the robo call, I have lost all respect for him.

Haven't heard of it in Mississippi before. However, it's very common in places like Milwaukee for there to be far more ballots submitted on election day than registered voters.

In other words, ballot-box stuffing.

I look forward to seeing the exit polling and the racial gap.

Just a few thousand could swing the pendulum, so that notion is incorrect.

I think he is saying that the dirty political move by Thad to reach out to the black democrat voters will turn off conservatives from voting for him in the general....especially many of the ones who supported McDaniel.

There was a case years ago in Alabama (1986) where Charlie Graddick ran against Bill Baxley in the Democrat primary for governor. Baxley was the party darling and Graddick beat him. In those days being the Democrat nominee was the same as being elected.

Baxley contested the election because of crossover voting. There was no way to tell who voted for whom so the Party took an opinion poll they had made earlier and declared Baxley the winner, then got a hack judge to uphold it.

Baxley thought he had won,but in the General Alabama voters rose up and elected the Republican Guy Hunt in a landslide. Hunt had no notion when he qualified that he had any chance he was basically a placeholder.

There is truth to this. He will single handedly energized black vote while pissing off conservative votes. He will grease the skids for the Democrat. I hope Haley Barbour is happy. f*** Thad Cochran.
