Surprised this wasn't posted already.

Kragthorpe will make $150,000 a year, one-third of his previous salary, under a new contract that began April 1 and ends in March 2017. His title is now “special assistant to the head coach/chief of staff for LSU football,” the contract says.

Yep. And I assume this will free up some dollars to pay Cam's back-loaded contract.

Yeah, no kidding.

But I dig the "Chief of Staff" title.

Assistant to the Regional Manager?

Really, I'm glad we were able to keep him around. I think he was the brains behind the offense's efficiency in '11.

So what does he actually do now? I hope he still get to prepare and have input on coaching stuff and not just a job in title only.

Good question.

From the article:
quote:

He served as quarterbacks coach for the next two years, leaving that spot and moving into an administrative role when offensive coordinator Cam Cameron took over in 2013. His administrative role was never identified.

So I guess that means he'll continue whatever his administrative role was, but with significantly less pay. I dunno.

I'd imagine he has some input with Cam on scouting and developing QBs. But again, who really knows?

I'm willing to keep track of timeouts/clock mgmt AND down & distance for $100,000/yr.

(All kidding aside, I'm glad Kragthorpe wasn't tossed aside after he got ill.)

Lot of class from the staff & board.

Feel for the Coach. Hired as a coordinator & illness takes him down. Not all would handle the situation well.

He has a lot of knowledge to share as long as he can. His strength & courage could be quite a motivational factor for the team.

Godspeed Coach - thanks for your contribution to the Tigers.

Even if he is just the clock management coordinator, it is well worth it. Glad he is staying on staff.

He had one year left on his contract for $450,000.

They amended his contract to be for 3 years to go and made the salary $150,000/year which would be the same amount of money as his current contract.

It appears to me they wanted him to have 3 years of medical insurance coverage which he probably very much needs with all the medicine he's taking for his Parkinson's.

A nice gesture on LSU's part, IMO.

Lord knows Leslie can't read a clock and he doesn't know how many timeout's he has per half!
