Went out on the Reel Good Charters party boat last Wednesday. Took 5 teenage boys fishing since they were tired of the beach. There was 25 others on the boat but no problems at all (i figured it would be tangled lines all day long but the deckhands had it down to a science). The boys caught 45 vermilion snapper (caught 6 red snapper and 5 trigger fish but had to throw those back due to being out of season).
It was a 6 hour trip and was booked late Tuesday afternoon to depart at 8 the next morning. $85 per person. Went out about 22 miles, water was slick as glass but it was hot as hell.
The catch that day by the entire boat was probably 200+ fish.....a couple of folks didn't do that well and there were a couple of other real nice stringers that i saw.
Was actually better and more organized than some private charters i've been on.

tight lines. They're a good outfit. I've used them the last few years and will be again in august.

Which boat were y'all on? Did you clean your own fish? If so, was it there at the dock or back at the condo

Clay Blankenship out of Zekes. Mostly inshore fishing for kings, spanish and reds. Fished with him about six times and always had fun. Good guy. You can find his direct number on Zekes website.
ETA due to above post: He will clean and bag any fish you catch. Suggestion: get him to take a few fish inside of Wolf Bay Lodge at Zekes and they will fry or blacken your fish to have for lunch. They do a great job.

We were on the Gulf Winds II. When you get off of the boat there is a fish cleaning station where the deckhands will filet the fish you just caught for .30 cents a pound. They put the filets in a couple of large ziplock bags for you. It took about 15 minutes for them to clean the fish. Didn't touch the fish until later that night when the frying commenced.
Cost me about 30 dollars for fish cleaning. I also tipped the deckhands 90 bucks total (there's signs all over the boat that recommend tipping 20% of your trip fee as the hands work on tips only).
