A guy I knew in college (acquaintance) started getting really heavy into reading about Buddhism. I didn't really think much about it....but apparently it stuck and he is Venerable first name last name. Not exactly sure what that means but it seems important.

I remember him being just a regular guy. Anyone ever actually meet a Buddhist before? What were they like? I can't believe I've gone this long without talking to one.

It's better than Christianity and Islam.

I've read a lot of books on Buddhism practicing being in the moment and they're really helpful in bringing you peace

I've never known anyone who was actually a Buddhist though

I'm sorry. I really don't practice it. I don't know why I said that.

Again, I'm sorry.

I think that Christians believe that they are going to hell.

I just checked out a bunch of books from the library. Their practices are really helpful

But I'm a Christian so I wouldn't go full on worshipping Buddha

If I was gonna practice a religion, Buddhism appeals to me.

I had a friend in college who was a Zen Buddhist. He'd go on the roof and meditate every day. He was annoyingly happy all the time. Just loved everyone and everything, just never-ending positivity all the time. Goddamn, frick that guy

I had a buddy who acted that way, but was Baptist. The crazy thing is he was on the football team and could hit like a mofer....then would smile and pick you back up....bastard.
