I've never had an iphone...always had HTC Incredibles. My mic on my phone is broken from being dropped too many times so people can barely hear me when I talk on it. I was debating getting the M8 (don't want S5 or G3) or waiting to see what the iphone 6 has for a while now. I originally was going to wait and pick one after I could compare the two but now with my mic is having issues...I'm wondering if I should just say F it and get the M8.

Thoughts?

Just get the M8.

Though I can't say enough good things about the iPhone.

September is a long time to wait with a busted phone unless you're unhappy with HTC or android in general.

If you're indifferent between platforms I would say get the M8 since you can get it ASAP.

I knew you were having problems with the Galaxy, thought you might have said eff it and switched over. The gf has a Galaxy and it is a massive POS.

m8 seems to get a lot of love, the only consistent complaint I've seen on it is the camera, but that's not really an issue to me.

I was looking at it till I started reading about the camera. Then I decided to just go off the deep end and purchase the Lumia 1020. After being underwhelmed with the Amazon phone I was going to wait around for the i6(or just get the i5s if I got too antsy), but figured I might as well go all out on the camera since it's one of my favorite features of a smart phone.

You'll be waiting another 3 months for the new iPhone.

Just in case though, are you sure the mic holes aren't clogged with dirt? That's what happened with my iPhone 5. Everyone was saying i sounded very muffled. I took a thumb tack to the holes to clean them out and now I sound fine again.

it really does. I came from an HTC EVO LTE and the first time I held the S4 I thought it was gonna shatter. It feels horribly cheap for such a high tech device. HTC really sets the bar for build quality.

ETA: BilJette, just get the M8 baw

She would be more than happy if the only problem was that it felt cheap. The software has been a effing nightmare. Literally can't run two programs at the same time. Text app will have to be opened 5 times before it stays open. Unbelievable POS.

Sometimes a program will open, like S Voice or Facebook, and I didn't even touch anything. There are programs on here I don't need but can't uninstall because Samsung obviously has contracts with the developers.

If I open the browser and go to a page, sometimes only half the page will load. Really? My BlackBerry never did that. I took it in and they ran tests on it and said, "She looks fine to me." What the frick ever.

I just switched to the M8 from an iphone 4s. I like the M8. It's just a much better all around phone. My only complaint is that when using Chrome, I have to touch the address bar 2-3 times sometimes before it registers. Otherwise, I'm happy to be rid of the iphone.

Granted, I am no longer tech savvy, and probably utilize about 1% of my phone's capabilities. But the 1% I utilize seems much better to me.

M8 should be better. The 4S is almost 3 years old.
