I know we have a good one already committed, but this kid from LA sounds too hard to pass up. Will we take 2 in this class? BTW Shea just lit it up at IMG...

Why would we alienate the kid currently committed to recruit a kid that's just going to pick a school based on who hires his brother?

I just can not understand the infatuation with trying to land any and every Louisiana recruit LSU can possibly get their hands on just because they're from Louisiana.

I don't care if he kid is from Alaska, of there's a kid that wants to go to LSU and he's better than an in-state kid, who are you going to pick up?

LSU is at a point where they can basically pick and choose as to who they want to bring in.

It's gotten to a point where I just laugh at these people that flip out over a kid talking about leaving the state. On the brink of a heart attack and ready to "FIRE MILES!!" If a kid goes somewhere else. All the while, LSU brings in top OOS blue chips and everything is just fine and dandy.

The kid grew up in Texas, the family only moved to Shreveport a year and a half ago.......

I have a friend who knows the Patterson family. He says the family is unhappy with LSU. Apparently Shea is interested in LSU, but the coaching staff is "slow playing" him and has yet to offer.

I don't know why LSU is hesitating. Patterson appears to be a really good prospect. Has a great arm and is very accurate. In addition, he is listed as a dual-threat QB, which seems to fall into LSU's plan for future.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he is already committed to Arizona.

I usually enjoy your little tirades and tend to agree, but this kid is really good. He's mobile in the pocket, has great footwork, above average accuracy, and a big arm. He seems to be exactly what Cameron has recently sought out, a throw-first QB that can extend plays with his feet. Maybe Franks is just that much better and the staff doesn't want him wavering, but both the hype around Patterson and confusion over him not even being offered are warranted IMO.

We already are high on our current 2015 QB in Justin McMillan. Why do we need another QB in the class when we have two scholarship guys that will be here at least another 2-3 years with Franks in 2016 as well? It's just bad timing and honestly I'm not sure the staff wants to wait around and see if we can get him or not. We need QBs ASAP and we have our guys for the next two seasons.

I shouldn't have wrote that as if I were singling out Patterson.

Just Louisiana prospects in general.

Prominentwon it's just dotting your is' and crossing your ts'. LSU knows they won't get every recruit but you still do cause word get around that the States' university is not recruiting instate kids then the 1980s and 90s happen

But scholarship limits tend to be a wet blanket when you offer every in-state kid.

you don't cross your i's and dot your t's with instate kids. if you offer an instate kid it needs to be a committable offer or a stipulation that coming to one of the camps for further evaluation is required (which doesn't sit well with some). what is the point of sending out a blanket offer with 2 qb's for 2015 and 2016 years already committed? lsu is way past the 1980's and 1990's. they recruit the best locally/statewide and nationally.

Does he even have any real interest in LSU?

Your stance is fine, but you can't have it both ways. You can't say LSU can recruit nationally, who cares about local kids then get pissy/call them traitors when local kids go to Bama/Auburn/A&M/Florida. Two way street.

Prom, I agree with your reasoning in most instances. Maybe Franks is so good that we cannot get a second QB for 2016. If so, then I'm good with the decision. If not, Shea is a great option...
