How would you rate him thus far?

He has been a mixed bag in my opinion. Getting beat near post against Ghana but his play after a rebound has been elite.

We need him to be mistake free and for Bradley to play his best game. Tim playing out his mind is what we need to get out of this round.

Think he was ok. Good saves but he was kind of bad on some. The shot before he made the falling back save, he fricked up

Howard plays exceptional almost the entire time except for about one brain fart a match.

I thought that was just a perfect shot on the outside of the Ghana player's foot. Really tough to defend that if you're Howard. I think he's been pretty good if not great so far.

Done pretty well considering our backline.

It is hard to realize how much ground they have to guard from TV.
It is all about reaction and often a goalie is cheating on a guess/hunch as to where a shot will be aimed, so they can often look silly on some goals, but in real time, plenty of these shots are humming at the goal, and it is hard to appreciate their speed. In the end, as someone says it is about not allowing the offense to key up and take unimpeded shots and then just hope to react well to the others.

Thought I had heard an announcer during the Ghana match say he is one of the best there is.

He had a brilliant save, but looked silly on the shot prior that hit the post. Looked like he slipped on the first Portuguese goal.

We have been spoiled as Americans with our Goalie play. Ochoa was flat out ridiculous against Brazil and I think that is what will be required against Germany. We haven't gotten that yet from Howard.

I'd say he's been pretty good. His mistakes haven't directly cost us goals. The goals allowed have come from good chances, although I would have liked him to stand his ground longer on the Ayew and Nani goals rather than going to ground so early.

The first goal wasn't really his fault. Nani pumped faked a shot, and Timmy had to react from that distance.
The second he messed up, but came back with an amazing save.
He is still a world class goalie, and if any new fans are watching be assured that 90% of the teams in the tournament would take him in a heart beat.

I like Tim. He's a good leader. Yeah he screwed up on the first goal, but I don't expect him to save most point blank shots. Yeah he screwed up on the one that he deflected and hit the post, but other than I think he's played well. He's been one of our best keepers of all time. He will be missed as this could be his last WC.

Considering the backline Howard is dealing with he's been good.

Got to remember that first goal was handed to Portugal by our derpfense. Tough as shite for Howard to anticipate Nani at 6 yards.
