I'm not tech-savy or anything so I am completely clueless when it comes to this. If I want to unlock my iPhone 5s from ATT and go to Verizon, would I need to purchase another SIM card or would the one I currently have still work with Verizon? Or is that what I'm actually "unlocking" by unlocking an iPhone?
TIA!!!

Verizon phones and ATT phones are different. Can't be used on each others networks.

sprint unlocked my 5s when I went to Europe for a few months. It's worth calling ATT to see if they can assist you.

CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access)(Sprint, Verizon and U.S. Cellular) and GSM (Global System for Mobiles)(AT&T and T-Mobile) are shorthand for the two major radio systems used in cell phones.

This is why you cannot use the same phone on AT&T and Verizon.
