Or at least that's what this guy is saying.

Expect the Pelicans to trade into the top 5.

Don't know how reliable he is but it looks like he was the first to report the Cavs hiring of Blatt. LINK

Me neither. You'd probably have to give up Ryno or Jrue. Maybe Dell has some sort of super trade in the works for Love and needs a top 5 pick?

As long as Eric Gordon is in whatever deal gets a top 5 pick, I'm all for it

Gordon + Anderson + Pierre + 2015 unprotected 1st round pick might do it. Philadelphia would make sense in this situation. Parker and Wiggens will both probably be off the board at that point, and I doubt they want to waste another year of their rebuild process on another injured big. Gordon & Anderson would work well with MCW. It all depends on what they think of Exim and Randle.

Orlando is the only top 5 team that makes some sense if they are willing to deal Holiday. They need a guy to pair with Oladipo. Why the Pelicans do that I have no idea.

Even if the idea is to trade for Love, it probably looks like Anderson/Gordon/4 for Love/Martin. So the Pelicans core is Davis, Love, Evans. Lots of cap space, but not many targets out there this summer. I guess Patty Mills would be a good target. Maybe they see what it would take to get Hayward.

If they got a long term from love i'd do it.

Tyreke
Martin
Stopgap(marion?)
Davis
Love

Bench would be:
Rivers
Morrow(if he resigns)
Babbit or miller
Smith
Ajinca/Withey

That's not bad at all and you'd have cap space in 2015 to find the 3rd member.

Love isn't a center. Neither is anthony Davis. You can't play 2 people at the power forward. Trading for love would be stupid.

I guess Tyreke can play PG on offense, but it seems like the defense would suffer, especially with KMart next to him. I really don't know what to make of this.

Embiid maybe? If they offered the package I mentioned above, it would free up a ton of cap space. They could trade for Asik as a stopgap for this season, and still have plenty of room to re-sign Morrow + address the SF situation. Maybe a frontloaded offer to Parsons.

Tyreke was pretty underrated defensively last season. He was solid while he was starting there on defense.

If we had a defender at the 3 it would work OK.

Postitions are become more vague tbh

It's not like one of them would be playing it full time either.

We are not trading Jrue. Whatever we do, we are keeping AD and Jrue, and probably Reke.

With regards to the Pelicans moving up - the expected targets are; Embiid, Gordon and Vonleh

Yeah, but I'm trying to figure out what kind of multiteam trade uses Anderson to move Gordon and get a top 5 pick. Forget dumping Gordon, can Anderson alone even get a top 5 pick?

I'm a big fan of his, but I don't think that jrue even gets a top five pick. This guy looks full of shite, but Alex Kennedy twittereded earlier that the pels will be very active this off-season, including the draft.

I don't see what we would have to offer someone to get a top 5 pick that doesn't involve Reek or Holiday

And honestly I'm not sure a top 5 pick is worth Reek or Holiday
