How often do you change oil in your car?

I do every 5000 miles. They recommend now every 3000. I just don't think that is necessary. Am I wrong?

Every 10,000. I own a German luxury car.

Check your owners manual. Every car is different

An oil change is pretty cheap vs buying a new engine or car due to break down because you are trying to squeeze a few thousand more miles out of it.

Every 10,000 for me but I use Mobil 1 full synthetic.

First off, I don't change it, secondly, whenever my mechanic texts me.

my servants change the oil in my cars

When my sensor reads ~10% (~8k miles) I bring it in. Free oil change on my diesel at BH is where it's at!

This.
Generally speaking, regular oil should be changed every 3-5k while synthetics should last 8-10k.
But check your owners manual.

that's a bold strategy, cotton

whenever the sticker on my windshield tells me to

5k full synthetic.
But you should still check the level periodically. Most cars will burn a little over longer intervals. For example I have to top off 1/2 qt about 2/3rds through the 5k.
With that said the reality is the engine will probably long outlast all the other components that break and end up making the car not worth keeping.

10k miles because that's what the owners manual says.
If it has a change oil light, go with whatever that tells you to do

I do every 3000. I average about 1500 every two weeks because of work.
