defensive for so much of the game, we had ZERO yellow cards. That is huge, when you consider some of the positions that we have little depth with.
To not have Jones, Beckerman, Bradley, or any of the back four already with a card, despite the constant defending, tackling, and most clearances in 40 years of world cup is outstanding.

Especially given the accumulation issues that came up today with Van Persie and Cahill.

That's a good point. Losing Jozy to injury is bad enough. We can't afford to lose any more of our guys if we have to get a result against Germany in the third game.

agreed that this is positive. Very surprising that we didn't pick up any cards out there that could have messed up our defense for the Germany game. If we tie Portugal and need to keep the GD down, having our 1st team defenders will be key.
