According to the poll, just 37% of respondents said they approved of Obama's handling of foreign-policy issues, an all-time low. Meanwhile, 57% said they disapproved, an all-time high.

Some other highlights from the poll:
•Obama's overall approval rating sits at just 41%, tying an all-time low.

•His approval rating on handling the economy also sits at 41%, down 1 percentage point from last month. It's the same number from March.

•Obama's favorability rating is underwater — 41% said they view him positively, while 45% see him in a negative light.

•When asked their predictions on the rest of Obama's term in office, 54% said they thought he "cannot lead and get the job done," compared with only 42% who said the opposite.

•Over the last 12 months, 41% of respondents said their views of the Obama administration have "gotten worse." Only 15% said they have "gotten better

And the foreign-policy approval rating for Obama might be artificially high. The poll was conducted before the crisis in Iraq — a situation for which Obama has been roundly criticized — bubbled up and grabbed international attention
.

So all he really lost was 6% out of his 47% base.

This will hurt his re-election chances.

Seriously, why should a POTUS give a shite about this in the last half of the 2nd term?

Because it reflects on the party he represents and hurts their chances in the next election

Beat me to it. The more negative feeling there is toward Obama, the less likely Democrats and Democrat-leaning Independents will show up in November. Many in those two groups stayed home in 2010 when he was still popular and generated enthusiasm because he was not on the ballot. The ones who stayed home in 2010 will likely do the same in November, but quite possibly now joined by many others from those two groups.

Probably but something tells me that if Clinton decides to run then there will be subjects she will try to distance herself from Obama on, then the media will have a tough decisions on which one to make look good and which to make look bad to further the media's agenda. The media doesn't have the intelligence on how to do both. Could get interesting.
