The house I am buying has a wood burning fireplace. I would like to put one of the "Amish fireplaces" in so it isn't wood burning anymore. Has anyone on here had any experience with these or have any other suggestions< TIA

Just get a plumber to run a gas line under the wood holder and be done with it. Very simple and not a whole lot that can be messed up

The fireplace will need some work to make it a functioning wood burning set up. I figure with the fireplace I have now I use it maybe 3 times a year, maybe. Just looking for a inexpensive way to fill the void of the fire place and have some heat at the same time.

Not sure what that is, but if you close off the chimney and burn fake logs with gas, remember about oxygen depletion.

Hes talking about one of those space heaters that looks like a fireplace. It has fake flames that light up so simulate a fire. Nothing is actually burning.
