Wife and I are going to have 1 full day in DC this Friday. Any tips/suggestions on how to make the most of the day? We are staying in Georgetown on Wisconsin Ave. TIA

Just pick your favorite Smithsonian museum. Or see the Capitol. Don't spread yourself thin - do one thing well.

Have you ever been before? I think seeing the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a fantastic experience. I really like hanging out on the Hill and in the National Mall area.
If you want to get in the Washington monument or the Holocaust Museum, go early. Both are on ticket systems and run out fast. If you want a better view than the Monument without the line, go to the top of the Old Post Office Building a few blocks away. Much more open and almost no people.
I'm bad at names of places to eat and places I would recommend though. I usually just stop by whatever is close while I'm visiting cool places.

You can see a ton of stuff in a day. If you haven't been or may not return I would recommend seeing as much as possible. It is a stiff day of walking but worth it. My wife and I did it with three kids in tow.
You can park near the Washington monument and walk and see World War II memorial, reflection pool, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, and White House, and other stuff along the way.
You can take a short drive to the Jefferson Memorial and capitol. We also drove to the cemetery and watched the guard change.
Again, it was a full day but weren't sure we would get back with the kids and wanted to see everything.

Are either of you assassins?

If you're staying in Georgetown you don't have Metro access but can take the bus or get a day pass for Capitol Bikeshare. They have bike stations all over the city and in Arlington, just walk up, punch in your code, and take a bike. Ride to some other station and return the bike. Repeat throughout the day, there's no additional charge so long as each ride is less than 30 minutes.
I recommend that if you see the Jefferson Memorial, do it at dusk.
For lunch do consider the food trucks. They're usually very good. You can get up-to-date locations and schedules here.
Regarding the sightseeing you already have far more choices than you have time to see them. But guided tours of the National Cathedral and the Library of Congress should be on your list IMHO.

Go to the mall, tour your favorite museums, see the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial

A night tour of the monuments is pretty cool. Lasts a couple of hours and you get to see the monuments lit up. It's pretty cool. See Arlington and maybe one or two of the Smithsonians if you go fast.
