No longer a verbal pledge to Michigan State after, ahem, “decommitting” from the Spartans, Jayru Campbell is reportedly looking at another pair of well-heeled football programs as he looks to get his life back on track.
During a lengthy television feature on Campbell, Detroit Cass Tech head football coach Tom Wilcher told WXYZ-TV that his player is currently weighing offers from Miami (Fla.) and LSU. Additionally, Cincinnati is in play for Campbell as well.

Campbell was sentenced late last month to, among other things, 60 days in jail after pleading guilty to misdemeanor aggravated assault. The quarterback had also originally been charged with felony assault with intent to do great bodily harm after he body slammed a school security guard who had the audacity to tell him to remove a hood; that charge was dropped as part of a plea agreement reached with prosecutors.

Nah, I imagine this is a saving face situation for the kid/school.
I haven't heard a thing about this.
He will have to go to a smaller school before he gets into a major one. He's not 'that' talented.
Of course, I say that and he could just kill it this year and every team under the sun could want him.

I remember the video. Just seems like the worst kind of gamble.

Uh..... Les still took in Jeremy Hill among others who had things in their past.... Les hasn't shown that he is afraid to take a kid if he feels the person has/can change.

no, he's talented, just not "that" talented. Meaning, he's not good enough to take the PR hit, imo.

What Hill did wasn't anywhere close to what this guy has done with his aggrevated assault charge. This guy seems like he doesn't have any control over his emotions and what will happen if he comes here and can't take the criticism being dished out by some of our fanbase? Will he lash out and body slam someone b/c he didn't like what they were saying??
Hill situation occurred while he was in high school and really wasn't that bad to me. To me the only reason Hill got in trouble was because you had some over zealous parents of a 14 year old girl trying to make an example out of him instead of disciplining and placing the blame where it belong on their child. The girl was out there "whoring it up" and they didn't want to believe that their precious baby girl was the instigator in such activities. I believe she even came out and said she was a willing partcipant.

Nah, Les knew Hill well and had a long standing relationship with him and his family after recruiting him for years before any issues came up.
He decided to keep his offer open after it became clear what the circumstances of the situation actually were.
Getting in on a kid like this now isn't a move Les would make imo. At least not until he goes to JUCO or something first to prove he's made a serious change and commitment to turning his life around.
