U.S. officials with access to the latest U.S. intelligence on Iraq told Fox News it "appears likely/probable" that U.S.-made Stinger missiles have fallen into the hands of Sunni insurgents.
It is possible that the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fighters acquired them from army bases they have taken over in recent days, the sources said.
The Stinger missile is a shoulder-fired surface-to-air weapon that is used against aircraft.

Obama is going to be pissed when he reads about this in the paper.
Really pissed, boy.
Really pissed, boy.

We've been hearing rumors about this stuff being at the heart of the Benghazi clusterfrick, with Stevens trying to reclaim as much as possible before it made its way to Syria.

Obama chose the wrong horse......again.
And FWIW, those weapons were stolen, not given.

Or perhaps they stockpiled them:
quote:
The White House announced today it planned to expand a program to secure and destroy Libya's huge stockpile of dangerous surface-to-air missiles, following an ABC News report that large numbers of them continue to be stolen from unguarded military warehouses.
Sept 2011
Either way, 20,000 is a shitload of Stingers to have

Not a fan of WND either. Poorly written articles which never seem to support the misleading titles.

Those ISIS fighters are about to start the 4th of July early in Baghdad.

no one took ISIS seriously a few days ago... well very few people on here did. Jim Rockford being one of them.
Now they have control of baghdad's water supply and the city is terrified.

I didn't know they control the water supply. Is that new information?

They've choked off the water supply to the city by taking over three key cities which control the flow (maybe some sort of tributary?). And yes, that info came out this morning.

They control the dams at Haditha, Sammara, and Mosul. They haven't technically cut anything off yet but have the ability to. That's how I understand it anyway.

ISIS now controls several major dams on the rivers, for instance at Haditha and Samarra. It also holds one 30 kilometres north of Mosul that was built on fragile rock and poses a risk of collapse. It holds at least 8 billion cubic metres of water.
Man that is scary.

Interesting Fact...
The Haditha Dam was a major USMC base during the Iraq war. Marines actually lived inside the dam and Haditha was scene of some of the heaviest fighting of the war. I actually spent a few nights in the dam. I thought it was creepy. Felt bad for the guys who lived there for their whole tour.

That is bad news. That situation is setting up as a genocide.
