Out for Portugal….Then, if US seems favored to advance to knockout rounds, out vs Germany as well.

Best case scenario is that it's not that severe and we get him back for the knockout stage, should we get there.

I think he can be back by Germany.
I also think he could come on as a sub late against Portugal if we needed an equalizer because that would be a bit of a do or die situation.
Yes. I realize I'm probably being too optimistic.

There is no chance he plays v. Portugal and if we somehow lock up a spot to the knockout round on Sunday, there is no point in risking Jozy against Germany.

Able to play 60 minutes vs Germany. He'll have 8 or so days to get treatment and be ready.

Hamstrings are horrible injuries because they differ from people.. Kinda like high ankle injuries. I hope he is back Sunday

World Cup over for Altidore. He will be useless on a bad wheel against this level of competition.

For Portugal?

good thing for us is Pepe will not be there for Portugal, so they lack their physical presence in the middle. Altidore would have feasted on Portugal, but dempsey and bacon should be good enough

This is the second time we've had this exact same thread. We wait and see. No way to tell, so let's not try and speculate until we know.

He won't be 100% for 4-6 weeks.

Why can't we speculate? Really dude, what is the harm in speculating about it on a message board. Don't participate if you don't want to.

Strain and he misses Portugal, good chance he plays thereafter.
Pull and he is done.
Wynalda says Aron not good enough, need to play Wondo.

He won't be 100% for the rest of the tournament. Hopefully he can approach that if we make it out of the group because he's the only striker we have who's adept at hold up play.

I really hope you aren't taking Wynalda's words as law. That is just a bad idea.
