Give corporate tax breaks to companies that increase non-CEO pay. This may exist already, not sure.

Just wanted to run this idea and ask what ya'll think.

The concept sounds interesting. As always the devils in the details.

Provide a negative income credit to everyone. Get out of tying welfare and work together.

Set a minimum wage for government workers and abolish public sector unions.

Abolish minimum wage in private sector and promote collective bargaining

Conservatives don't see slave wages as a problem. Thus they have no solution.

so how much is it worth to pay someone to take my order at a fast food joint?

Thats OK, they will be replaced with a touch screen order menu soon anyways

And most minimum wage positions are entry level positions for those 16 - 25. not a career. These positions should only be used to get work experience.

Hell, we start 1st year employees in the construction field i'm in at $11.00 + benifits....

i fault our education system if you are 40 and working at min wage

You do realize that is next to impossible since Conservatives want to abolish the minimum wage and collective bargaining.

You cannot abolish public sector unions since workers have the right to freely assemble and engage in coordinated actions on the job such as work to rule, work slowdowns, massive sick call-ins, purposely working slow, etc.

Public sector unions are free to form a union the point is whether or not the government negotiates with them and allows collective bargaining.

Most low wage positions aren't minimum wage. Anyone working for between present minimum wage and the proposed minimum wage would see a raise, that's just obvious math. Most everyone just above the cutoff will also see a small raise (if their employers want to retain them at least).

So if higher paying positions aren't available for someone, your view is that they should get on the government dole instead?

Oh, well that's relevant. Because everyone getting paid minimum wage can just go work for your company.

So you want to punish people for getting shitty educations?

how about we just eliminate the income tax for everyone making less than 50k per year? That would be just like a wage increase, but it wouldn't strain businesses like a minimum wage hike would. I would like to see the income tax eliminated for everyone, but no way democrats would ever let that pass through congress. If conservatives present a bill that just eliminates the income tax for the poor though, then dems would be forced to support it to back up their bogus claim of "being for the poor".

However, corporate welfare is never the solution.

How is that a conservative proposition at all? Conservatives believe in free markets, government intervention to alter behavior is inherently against free market conservative principles.

Life choices are not punishment but do have consequences. This means if one job is not enough then maybe you work more. Work more hours on the job you have. The main thing is to work for what you need and you can and will achieve.

Corporations don't need another tax break. They already frick over Joe Taxpayer enough by making their millions off employees that must be supported by welfare. Walmart should be taxed to hell and back for the millions of people they have on the welfare roll. To hell with rewarding them for it with tax breaks.

You really are full of bullshite and hot air arent you? You have incredibly questionable morals if you think there should be a minimum wage at all, much less raising the motherfricker. A person making minimum wage is unskilled and should be paid according to what the market dictates for unskilled labor, not the government.

Not all people are unskilled for a minimum wage job. Maybe we should redefine the term unskilled worker to unskilled work.

This is my preferred solution as well. I'm not exactly sure about what the income ceiling should be, but I would support a similar proposal.
