Cash and stock deal scheduled to close late 2014 or early 2015. I'm a COV owner. Any insights from those familiar with the deal would be appreciated.

Congratulations on owning a company that got bought at a 25%+ premium over its previous closing price!

The only insight I have is I tried to short COV today but there are no shares available for shorting through Schwab.

I've got 700 shares of Medtronics at 60 bucks a share = 42K. What can I expect from this buy?

Appears the deal will go down for $93.22/sh of what COV is trading at now. Owners of COV will receive 30% stock of Medtronic and the rest in cash. This will be a taxable event for non-qualified holders is my understanding. Medtronics is planning on relocating headquarters to Ireland. I don't have a time frame on the deal yet though.

Wish that was the case back when I worked for them. Yearly (sometimes multiple) trips to Minneapolis sucked. Sucked x10 in the winter.
