How do I get ESPN HD without a cable box (Cox)?

Got a TV in the office to watch world cup but can't add a box because it's the office's cable and I'm not the boss. Is there any way to get ESPN in HD with just the cable cord?

Find an HD stream and connect your laptop/desktop to TV with HDMI.
Easy.
Easy.

The quality of most streams fluctuates but this looks like the best option.

My office has a TV in the kitchen with no cable box and ESPN in HD

Do you have accessible wifi in the office? Do you have a watch Espn account?
If yes to both, go buy a $30 chromecast from best buy.

It's either using some type of streaming device or more likely plugged into regular coax with no box which is not HD.

The box doesn't make it HD

No, but the box is required to decrypt many of the HD channels. Your TV can probably tune in some of the unencrypted HD channels (mainly the broadcast networks), but probably not ESPN and such.

We are talking about ESPN. It's in the title and it's in the post I was replying to, in which you replied to and told me I was incorrect.

PS - most tv's now have .1 .2 .3 after the channels. This is for HD channels without the need for a cable box. You can get ESPN this way too. 104.1 might he SD and 104.2 for HD.

You are..As it has been pointed out, there are many channels you can receive from COX through the Coax that are HD..You don't need a box...

So you get ESPN in HD with the Coax plugged straight into the TV?
