re: Windsor Ruins

There is one tree they really need to cut. Blocks a major part of the ruins. Used to be a lake right by it. Google image search and you will find an old black and white photo of it.

re: Windsor Ruins

Took 300. I figured at best I'd have 5 decent ones. Under no illusions. I'm just getting started. Just would rather practice on interesting subjects such as this one than boring ones.

I'd agree that this is the best one....you should use your touchup brush in lightroom to try and remove that pole right in the middle...shoudl be pretty easy to do. I would also bump up the Clarity on each column. Also touch up your black/white a little. Hold the Alt button down (if using pc) and then slide the black slider until you see black appear...same thing for white except do it to where you see white apppear.

Add a slight vignette to it.

Also what was your settings on this pic? Do you know where your focus was? Should have been on back column.

re: Windsor Ruins

It is amazing that this place survived Grant's Vicksburg Campaign during the Civil War only to burn down 30 years later because of a cigar.

It was probably quite a sight for those Federal troops after they entered Mississippi.

re: Windsor Ruins

was using automatic. Don't laugh. My favorite is probably the one of the descending columns. On one end the columns are vibrant, strong. On the other end worn down to the base, crumbling, decaying. Tells a story.

Just an example to show you what Lightroom can easily do....kinda hard to do with these because they aren't RAW files, but you get the idea.
