Years ago, I went fishing with a friend on his bosses sportfisherman out in the GOF. We were I guess 40 or 50 miles offshore and got kind of bored trolling, so his bos gets out the fully automatic AK47 he kept on the boat. We threw some plastic jugs in the water and started taking turns plasting them. It was my only time shooting a fully automatic gun and it was exhilerating.
The thread on AK47s got me wondering if its possible to turn the semi 47s into automatics. Is it possible to do this?

The gun law of 1986 bans any new machine guns. Any guns on the NFA books at that time are the only machine guns allowed...

Shooting full auto is just about the most fun you can have with all your clothes on, but modifying a semi-auto to full auto is highly illegal.
Like $100,000 fine and 10 years in Federal PMITA prison.
If you want to shoot full auto, just go to a range that will rent them to you legally and blast away.

It's actually pretty dang simple. A guy showed me how to do it and I was blown away but just how easy it is.

No it is not without breaking the law. You would have to buy a previously registered '47. I have not looked at prices lately, but it is probably north of $10k

Thanks for the simple answer. I knew about the ATF, illegal, blah, blah, blah.
I'm not a gun guy like some of you and I didn't even know if it was possible. Just was curious after looking at the other thread.

There are books you could buy and it's really simple I've been told but get caught and go to pound you in the arse jail.

you can do it really easily. and ive owned plenty of ak's and never had a cop check to see if was fully automatic. most cops dont know shite about guns in the first place.so many atf crybabies in here geez.
