I think it is kind of weird that Phil is playing the NYE run with them. Don't get me wrong, I love Phil Bombs as much as anybody. But Drewitz seems to be holding his own fine. I guess I just don't want Phil to try to sing . His attempt at Franklin's Tower is horrible.

The venue is now a 100 acre tract of single family homes. Back in 69 it was the site of my first 'rock' concert, The New Orleans Intl. Pop Festival. I had gotten my drivers license the day before and drove the parents' 64 VW Bug to Prarieville, on Hwy 61 between Baton Rouge & New Orleans. There it was. Weirdness. Some bikers 'insisted' i lick some drops they'd deposited off the back of my hand & as i wandered the grounds everything sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher..Wha..WhaWha...WhaWhaWha. The Line-Up: White Fox, Snowrabbit, Deacon John and the Electric Soul Train, Whizbang, Axis, Sweetwater, Lee Michaels, Oliver, Jam Session, Cat Mother and the All Night Newsboys, Spiral Staircase, It's a Beautiful Day, Country Joe and the Fish, the Byrds, the Youngbloods, Canned Heat, Pot Liquor (local band from Baton Rouge), Chicago Transit Authority, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Santana, Iron Butterfly, Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin.

Stacked.

Grateful Dead
Santana
T Rex
Iron Butterfly
Country Joe and the Fish
