Harris is a TE Bama really wants and he stated LSU is standing out, and many on another Bama board say he will commit to LSU soon.

Any links? He picked up both offers in June camps, guessing he will get a big rating bump. Well unless he commits to LSU...

Short insert into one of the latest articles out on Jalen Harris.

I don't really want him and haven't followed his recruitment. I just know he is coached by former Auburn player, Phillip Lutz. I wasn't all that impressed by his film, TBH.

We have so many damn tight ends right now that I am not sure how heavily we're actually pursuing him.

Plus, I am pretty positive there's a very talented TE/FB in Louisiana that lSU and Bama are both after

Well it seems not too many were impressed by his film, but he's blowing up on the camp circuit. Honestly, I don't know why LSU is having so much success recruiting tight ends when they haven't been utilized much.

Bry'Keithon Mouton. He's probably about 6 foot tall, which is a knock on him as a TE, and I don't recall LSU using an H-Back type in recent memory.

Harris is 6'4-6'5ish. I watched his film, looked alright, although I'd admit I'm very much of an amateur at analyzing that stuff.

What I'm wondering is if LSU would be interested in him as a potential DE. There is precedence with a guy like Ken Adams who was thought to be a TE by many recruiting sites, as well as Auburn and Tennessee, and ended up being a solid JUCO transfer contributor at DE for two seasons. In fact, he had almost an identical body to Harris.

One of his coaches at St. James is a friend. Knowing I was a big Tiger fan he told me yesterday that Jalen was high on LSU because he fit our style of tight end more than Auburn's hback or The way Bama uses their TEs. Jalen feels LSU would be the best place to develop for the NFL. He is the highest rated TE in Alabama and you have got to love the fact that we lead for his services.

The big thing now is that LSU has an OC who can explain to a TE or any other skill player in detail exactly how he will be used. The players, HS coaches and parents are pretty impressed with Cameron's knowledge. He is also personable and a great recruiter. I suspect he has final say on the skill players. Since Miles is also a great recruiter I suspect LSU will identify and get the skill players they want.

Cameron coming to LSU has been a boon to LSU in more ways than having a better offensive mind. He can better identify players needed for the offense, conduct better practices, have better game plans, and make in game adjustments.

An additional benefit is his taking over the offense has relieved Miles of many supervision duties there and he has been able to spend more time helping with the OL in practice. He spent a huge amount of time in spring practice helping Grimes rebuild the OL. Even though LSU is returning a lot of the same veteran OL there is reason to expect the OL to perform at a much higher level in 2014.

if the spring game is any indication...and it almost never is, but you never know...then desean smith should have a big season and alot of targets headed his way.

I just want LSU to get some serious productivity out of Desean Smith and Jacory Washington while their on campus. Those 2 are such good receiving TEs that they need to be utilized. And hopefully by them getting a good # of targets and TDs it will make more TEs want to come here in the future.

Antonio Gates

We now have an OC who values the TE in the passing game. For the last 2 years, we haven't had the talent there, though.

We also haven't had the offensive line talent that other programs have.

We had to use a TE to block to make up for our deficiencies

Same here. Both have unreal skillsets when it comes to speed, size, and hands.

Was probably because Bama offered him last week at their camp. Right before he came to our camp and got an offer

This is great news if true. Les and Cam both really liked this kid at the recent camp.
