Going to NC to stay in the mountains with in laws. They want me to fry fish one night on the dock of our lake house. If I put it in the trunk of my wife's car for 9 hours....strapped upright will I be alright? tia

Just make sure nothing can somehow turn the knob and make it leak out.

I was going to duct tape over the whole top.

They won't leak even if the knob is opened unless a hose is connected. You'll be fine

I watched some guys talegate open up on hwy 90 in Morgan city today, and a bottle of propane came out and bounce a couple of times then roll into the ditch. Don't do it that way

Would never happen to me. I put mine in one of the corners nearest the cab- in the milk crate.

All new propane bottles have a safety valve in the external valve. There's really nothing to worry about here.

One thing that may make your travel better is to transport an empty bottle and excahnge it when you arrive to your destination. The cost to exchange one is less than $25. This method is another safety valvve for you.

Worse case scenario just pick up one at any gals station for 19 bucks if you swap an empty or 44 if you don't have an exchange

Won't he still have to bring it home with gas in it? He's not going to use a whole bottle of propane frying a few fish.
