So my gf's little brother flies into Dallas from South Dakota and his bag was loaded on a flight to San Antonio and from there the baggage was lost. Baggage was recovered and delivered to my door step today, low & behold his xbox one has been stolen out of his bag. Can the xbox be tracked to a location if someone tries to get online with it?

Not to be a dick but why would you put your Xbox 1 in your check in luggage? You never put expensive stuff like that in check in luggage.

Even if they can track it down, it's going to take a long time. Depending on how his parents paid for the flight, insurance should cover this and is his best bet to replace it.

Ask your credit card company for their policy on lost or stolen luggage. Depending on the credit card used, you may have protection. Signature cards and AMEX are generally good for this.
