Was looking forward to seeing a potential Federer/Nadal final in Halle, but instead will have to watch Federer play Falla in the finals after Nadal checked out in the first round. Would still be a nice title for Fed to add to his belt to give him some much needed confidence heading into Wimbledon.

Queens also had a pretty decent draw, but Wawrinka and Murray have continued their disappointing play and checked out early again. Not too thrilled about watching Dimitrov v. either Lopez or Stephanek.

Is showing up and not trying (and get worked by a scrub) better than skipping the warmup event?

Next year, they will finally add another week between the French Open and Wimbledon. That should increase the quality of the Wimbledon tune-ups.

This should have been done years ago. With today's win, Federer has won Halle 7 times. Nadal has been in the same draw a number of times over the years, but we have yet to have a Federer/Nadal final on grass at Halle as Nadal always seems to get booted out early after winning the French. Would have been nice to see Federer at least have the opportunity to have more shots at being Nadal on Fed's best surfact/Nadal's worst surface.
