June 10, 2014 House of Blues Houston.
Probably the worst concert I've been to in years.
His band came out and did a 10 minute set with some nice horn and guitar solos...
Then the "King" comes out and spends 15 introducing the band.
After that they roll into a disjointed Rock Me Baby..After about 45 minutes the "King" has played a dozen notes..
Tons of chit chatting with the fans in the front row-sexual abundance proceeds.
I'm not going on about this but BB needs to be put out to pasture..It was embarrassing to him and a rip off fans who came to see the blues master play and got rambling, incoherent "concert'. This was not the blues-it was barely a tribute.
Kuddos to his band for holding this together...

Yeah, I saw him for the 1st time a few months ago. Not good. Same with Buddy Guy. Better to just buy the mp3 of when they were solid.

I saw B.B. King about five years ago, and it was not a good show. He spent most of the time just talking. I appreciate that he probably wants to die performing, but he just doesn't really put on a good show these days.

I saw Buddy Guy around the same time, and he put on a solid show.

Been hearing for many years that BB concerts are short and suck.

Have seen Buddy Guy twice in the last few years, and he kicked arse both times.

Getting up there. It's more about saying you got to see him than the music at this point.

Read a review of a BB King concert in St. Louis a few months ago, that basically reflected the same experience. His management blamed that show on a screw up with his medication. Seems like they still haven't figured out his meds.

Yea, I saw that review after I attended the concert. Unfortunately I purchased my tickets months ago.
So I can say "yes, I saw BB King" but unfortunately did not see him play much...

Reading these post is making me regret much less not going to see him in B.R. the last time he came.

saw him recently as well. the show was exactly as the original poster described. I didn't leave disappointed though I didn't expect him to do much.
many seem to go expecting to get a cook county jail performance. the man is 88 years old. people should consider themselves lucky to just be in the same venue as b.b. king.

Maybe its just the venue. Bc 2 months ago I saw him at HOB Houston and it was very underwhelming. Too much talking and not enough playing.

fricking This

I don't give a shite how bad they are, if you get a chance to see BB King or Chuck Berry consider yourself lucky.

These two guys still go out at their age and do the best they can
